Doug Younger

Nathan Douglas Younger of Stuart, Oklahoma, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 75. Services will be held Tuesday, March 31 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, officiated by Rev. Sam Caldwell. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Sunset, Texas. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Pallbearers are Donald Meekins, Bryan Younger, Shawn Younger, Marc Moore, Matt Holliday, Chris Meekins, and honorary pallbearer Don Younger. Doug was born March 23, 1940 to Pierce Camp and Christine D. (Ledford) Younger in Decatur. After high school graduation, Doug received degrees from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, and East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. He taught in Bridgeport, Bryson and Chico ISD systems for many years. He received numerous agriculture and rodeo-related awards over the years, and had a great love for horses. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Dianne K. (Cetto) Younger; sons Donald Meekins and Bryan Younger; daughters Mitzi Meekins-Holliday, and Leann Younger; brother Don Younger; and grandchildren Christopher Meekins and Haley Meekins. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, P.C. and Christine Younger; and brother John Younger.
