Funeral services for Dorothy (Tubbs) Clark, 93, of Runaway Bay, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m.Friday, June 28, 2024, at the First Baptist Church Bridgeport, with burial to follow at Eternal Oaks Cemetery in Runaway Bay. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, one hour prior, at the church. Dr. Craig Erb will be officiating.
Dorothy Clark, a beloved member of the community, passed away on June 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication. Born October 8, 1930, in Round Timber, Texas, to Lonnie and Lola (Whitaker) Tubbs, Dorothy lived a life full of love, hard work, and devotion to those around her. She married Claude (Sonny) Clark on September 9, 1954, in Mineral Wells, Texas, and was happily married for 52 years, until his passing in 2007.
Throughout her career, Dorothy made a significant impact in various roles. She worked for The Bridgeport Index for nine years, Mitchell Energy Corporation 14 years, serving at both the Bridgeport and Fort Worth offices, and contributed 16 years of service to the Wichita County Family Court Services. Her commitment to excellence shone brightly at all locations.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dorothy was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club inWichita Falls and Bridgeport locations, where she formed lasting friendships. Additionally, her faith was an essential part of her life as a member of the First Baptist Church Bridgeport, where she was a longtime member.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Lonnie Tubbs, Jr.
Those left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her daughters Kimberly Self of Bridgeport, Texas, and Karen Clark of Bridgeport, Texas; son Craig Clark of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren Dustin Self and wife, Alicia, Matthew Self and wife, Vanessa, Craig Clark II and wife, Curstian, Cassandra Bracken and husband, Zac, and Casey Clark; great-grandchildren Truett Self, Strayleigh Self, Adelyn Clark, Allie Mae Clark, Craig Clark III, Lainey Clark, Lydia Bracken, Zak Bracken, Hadley Bracken, Tucker Bracken, Bo Bracken, Layne Clark, and Austin Clark; and a host of friends and family.
