Funeral services for Doris Marie Womack, 95, of Paradise, Texas, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2024, at the First Baptist Church Paradise, with burial to follow at Boonsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Dr. Shawn Brewer will officiate.
Pallbearers will include Tracy Browder, James Browder, Wesley Faske, Kevin Faske, Tim Gilbert, and Brett Sharp; honorary pallbearers include Maxie Womack, Thom Staten, Larry Fitzgerld, Ren Young, Mark Rector, and Barry Begeman.
Born on August 16, 1929, in Truscott, Texas, to James Carlton and Carrie (Morris) Browder, Doris lived a life full of love, dedication and service to others.
As a homemaker and farmer, Doris dedicated her life to nurturing her family and the land. She worked tirelessly on the family’s dairy farm, pouring her heart into every aspect of her work. Her strong faith guided her through life, and she was a devoted woman of God who actively participated in the First Baptist Church in Paradise. Doris's spiritual devotion was evident not only in her church activities but also in the way she cared for her family and friends. She was a selfless caregiver to her disabled daughter and would go above and beyond to help anyone in need.
Doris was known for her warm personality and her deep love for her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, always looking forward to teaching them about Jesus and reading Bible stories. Her home was filled with the comforting smell of her cooking and baking. Doris will be fondly remembered for her homemade yeast rolls, cornbread dressing, black-eyed peas, pecan pies, and pear preserves, which will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them.
Doris had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She loved quilting, sewing, cooking, and gardening. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading her Bible, doing puzzles, coloring, and playing dominos and 42. Doris also treasured the time spent with her friends at Finish Line Cafe, where they shared monthly birthday lunches. For over 25 years, she was an active member of the Sharing Hearts Club, strengthening bonds within her community.
Doris never forgot her family’s birthdays and made it a point to send them cards, showcasing her thoughtfulness and care. She will be remembered for her kindness and unconditional love for everyone around her.
Doris leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication that will not be forgotten by those who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of family, friends, and all who were touched by her generous spirit.
Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Orman M. Womack; daughter Diana Womack; parents Carlton and Carrie Browder; brother Eddie Browder; sister Jean Coleman and husband Herbert; great-granddaughter Natalie Marie Reneau; nephew James Coleman; brother-in-law Dewey Faske; and daughter-in-law Tamra Womack.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons A. Lynn Womack and wife Glenda, Jimmy Womack and wife Barbara, and Ron Womack; sister Carla Faske; grandchildren Chris Womack and wife Tammy, Debbie Womack, Theresa Pinson and husband Billy, Tanya Clayton and husband Tracy, Bryan Womack and wife Brandalyn, Jason Womack and wife Mandi, Meagan Reneau and husband Chuck; great-grandchildren Miranda Womack, Sydney Womack-Idemudia and husband Ezekiel, Justin Womack, Cassidy Calender, Courtney Pinson, Lane Lancaster and wife Dellyn, Luke Lancaster, Kyler Womack, Blayne DeSouza, Mason Womack, Jaxson Womack, Rachel Reneau; great-great-grandchildren Aleah Hartman and Ella Lancaster; nephews Tracy Browder and wife Melodie, James Browder and wife Christina, Kevin Faske and wife Jamie, and Wesley Faske; nieces Beverly Staten and husband Thom and Darita Bullock; and sister-in-law Camilla Browder.
