Doris V. Thomas

Graveside service for Doris V. Thomas, 89, of Bridgeport, Texas will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 27 at Thomas Cemetery in Bridgeport, officiated by Brother Gary Demmitt. Doris passed away Friday, April 24 in Bridgeport. No scheduled visitation is planned, but friends and family are welcome to come view and sign the book at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

She was born on April 30, 1930 in Duncan, Oklahoma to James Henry and Lena May (Gorforth) McDanel.

Doris enjoyed working out in the garden and being a housewife. She really loved animals. Doris was a loving wife and mother. She had a numerous amount of friends.

She is survived by her husband Jerry L. Thomas of Bridgeport; daughters Veda Cleveland of Oregon, Edith Preston of Pioneer Valley, Texas, and Sherry Preston of  Wilmer, Texas; sons Douglas Preston and wife Kathie of Dallas, Texas and Deryl Preston and wife Diane of Quinlan, Texas; brother J.D. McDanel and wife Sue of Texas; numerous grandchildren, nieces nephews, and many friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.
