Donald Sam "Buddy" Richey, 74, of Jacksboro, Texas passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 in Decatur. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Cundiff Cemetery in Cundiff, Texas. Bill Myers will officiate. Pallbearers are Chase Coffman, Josh Richey, Chris Richey, Leah Geeslin, Derek Richey, and Monty Forbus. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Buddy was born October 20, 1938, in Crafton, Texas to Opal (Warden) and Gus Richey. He was a farmer who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved horse racing. Buddy was a musician who enjoyed playing with local bands. He is survived by his children Bobby Richey and wife Rhonda of Chico, Texas, Donna Geeslin and husband Ronny of Chico, Jimmy Richey and wife Pam of Sanger, Texas, and Billy Richey and wife Kathy of Chico; sisters June Cox and husband Elmer of Denton, Texas, Janet Myers and husband Bill of Leander, Texas, and Anna Hand and husband Jim of Chico; brother Bobby C. Richey and wife Frances of Chico; grandchildren Chase Coffman and wife Hannah, Josh Richey, Chris Richey and wife Sarah, Leah Geeslin, and Derek Richey; five great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Buddy is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Stacey Richey.
