Donald Deatherage

Donald Dean Deatherage, 69, of Bowie, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in Bowie. A graveside service will be held in West Bridgeport Cemetery Friday, May 29 at 2:00 pm, officiated by Melvin Castleberry. Visitation will be Thursday, May 28 from 6-8 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Donald was born in Bridgeport August 4, 1945 to Wesley Orbon and Tressie Beatrice (Hobbs) Deatherage. During his high school years, Donald was captain of the football team and an avid boxer. Before a serious auto accident in his early twenties left him disabled, Donald worked as a machinist manufacturing ammunition. He leaves behind three brothers, all of Bridgeport: Lester Deatherage and wife Mildred, Travis Deatherage, and Robert Deatherage and wife Jan; sister Betty D. Waldrep and husband Joe of Denton, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Myrna Joyce (Deatherage) Coffee.
