Deniece Walker

A memorial service for Deniece Ann Walker, 59, of Bowie, Texas will be 10:00 am Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by son Thomas Mitchum. Deniece passed away Friday, August 12 at home. Deniece was born to George Vernon and Edna (Thompson) Sneed in Big Springs, Texas on April 16, 1957. She was a homemaker who enjoyed adult coloring, sewing, gardening, as well as a lover of animals, particularly dogs. She was a 1975 graduate of Bridgeport High School, and later worked for several years as a nurses aide. Deniece married John Christian Walker July 4, 2004 in Bellevue Baptist Church, Bellevue, Texas. She is survived by her spouse of 12 years, John Walker; sons Tim Mitchum and wife Stefanie, Thomas Mitchum and wife Shannon, and stepson David Christopher Walker; daughters Cassandra Ann Walker, and Jessica Nicole Walker; sister Sherry Pewitt and husband David; and granddaughter Tifani Hicks. Deniece was preceded in death by her parents, paternal grandparents Morris and Ida Sneed, and maternal grandfather Lawrence Thompson,
