Deljuan Jennings, 83, of Bridgeport, Texas passed away July 31, 2017 in Bridgeport. A graveside service will take place in Straley Cemetery in Adamsville, Texas Saturday, August 5 at 12:00 noon, officiated by Glenn Davis.
He was born March 24, 1934 in Adamsville, located in Lampasas County. His parents were Gordon C. and Sudie Violet (Gutherie) Jennings.
Deljuan was a strong but quiet man. He liked to watch old western movies, particularly those featuring the ‘Duke’ John Wayne. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake boating. He was a history buff, and liked exploring the roads in search of historical markers.
He was a member of the Lion’s Club in Arlington. Before retirement, most of his career was spent in Quality Control for Bell Helicopter.
Deljuan is survived by daughters Cynthia Bulone and husband Domenico of Bedford, Texas, and Deann Jennings Shoshanah of Boyd, Texas; grandchildren Mark Banks, Jr., Jeremiah Banks, Rachel Collins and husband Paul, and Marie Bulone; great-grandchildren Raven Banks, Phoenix Banks, Mark Banks III, Dakota Banks, Morgan Banks, Michael Collins, and Lauren Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Gary Dale Jennings, and sister Wilma Irene Jennings Lively.
Memorials may be made to the Daughters of the Confederacy, or to Alzheimer’s research.
