Deanna Wilson

Deanna Faith (Hartsell) Wilson, 66, of Chico, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 27, 2023, in Decatur, Texas.  Funeral services will be held 3 pm Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas; visitation will be 2 pm, one hour prior to the service. Chaplain Jackie Karch will officiate.

Born August 9, 1956, in Decatur, Texas, to Harlan and Juanita (Faith) Hartsell, Deanna graduated from Chico High School in 1974. She would later marry her soulmate, Ron Wilson, on October 24, 1980, and spend the next 42 years happily married until the time of her passing.

A homemaker who loved puzzles, gardening, quilting, diamond art, beekeeping (with her brother, Danny's, assistance), canning and reading, Deanna is best described as “going all out,” when it came to any activity, especially during the holidays. Airline pilots, for example, are rumored to have used her lighted Christmas displays as landmarks on approach to the DFW airport.  Deanna was, above all else, a loving wife and mother who took great pride in caring for everyone in her home, whether family or not. She loved cooking for her children and would always make more than enough food for anyone else seated at her table. Deanna welcomed everyone into her home with open arms.  She will be greatly missed and remembered with kindness and affection by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; sons Sean Phillips and wife Rhonda, Jeremiah Phillips and wife Brooke, Joey Wilson and wife Chloe, and Chance Wilson and wife Nadia; brothers Danny Hartsell and wife Darla; sister Debbie Parsons; grandchildren McKenzie, Brylee, Kaida, Ava, Serenity, Jase, Carsynn, Shiloh, Ashley, Hunter, Jennah, Tyson, Colten, Madalyn, Philip, Hannah, and Luke. 

Deanna is preceded in death by her parents; sister Jane Cayce; and brothers Tim and Lynn Hartsell.
