Dean Meadows

Waymond Dean Meadows, 76, of Paradise died May 16, 2016 in Decatur. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport at 10:00 am, officiated by Bro. Sam Starr. Burial will follow in Cottondale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 20 from 6-8 pm, also at Jones. Dean was born April 11, 1940 in Paradise to Henry and Tommie (Stevens) Meadows. He married Lucille Jones on March 10, 1961 in Bridgeport, Texas. He worked for Bell Helicopter and Mitchell Energy, then started his own lawn mowing business until his retirement. He enjoyed raising cows and gardening. He was a member of the Paradise Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Lucy Meadows; sons Mike Meadows and wife Patricia of Rhome, Don Meadows and wife Deborah of Paradise; two sisters: Ethel Ruth Adams of Paradise, and Helen Glazener of Lewisville, Texas; five grandchildren: Bryan Meadows and wife Kim of Boyd, Mitch Meadows of Miami, Texas, Kevin Meadows and wife Allyson of Haslet, Texas, Alexa Carter and husband Josh of Paradise, Jeffrey Dobbs and Allison of Springtown; three great-grandchildren: Hayden, Aubrey, and Kaysen Meadows, and Emery Kate Meadows (due in July); and three adopted grandchildren: Heather, Jimmy and Johanna Barnett. Dean was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Tommie Meadows; and brothers Henry Wayne Meadows, Johnnie William Meadows, and Raymond Lee Meadows.
