Services for David Lee Ramsey of Decatur will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Eagle Mountain International Church in Newark, Texas, officiated by Pastor Bobby Armstrong. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery in Aurora, Texas. Pallbearers are Sam Ramsey, James Ramsey, Matt Ramsey, Evan Samsill, Joel Samsill, Bryson Samsill, Miles Ramsey, and Dean Ramsey. Visitation will be Friday, July 15 from 6-8 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. David passed away in Decatur just three days after his 53rd birthday, on July 12, 2016.
David was born July 9, 1963 to Bob Lee and Anne Elizabeth (Pitts) Ramsey in Pasadena, Texas. He was a graduate of Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas, and on Valentine’s Day 1987 in Keller, Texas he married Amy Jean Miles. He was a member of Eagle Mountain International Church.
He was the owner/operator of Just Milling Around Molding & Millwork, Inc. in Rhome, Texas where he handcrafted custom cabinets, and produced molding and millwork.
David’s hobbies included designing, building and woodworking, cooking and grilling, restoring antique cars, collecting trunks and lanterns, and fireworks.
He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Amy Jean Ramsey; sons Miles David Ramsey, and Dean Allan Ramsey; daughters Katharine Lee-Anne Ramsey, and Shaelyn Elizabeth Ramsey; father Bob Lee Ramsey; brother James Cary Ramsey; sister Robin Kaye Maples; grandparents Grace Ramsey, Melba Adkins, and Vera Miles.
He was preceded in death by his mother Anne Ramsey, grandfathers Dean Ramsey, and Samuel Belt Pitts; and grandmother Katharine Talbot Pitts.
