David Ray Moody

Funeral services for David Ray Moody, 61, of Wizard Wells, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Pallbearers will include David Leon, Shannon Hood, Gary Moody, Joshua Marshall, Dennis McMurry, David McMurry, Timothy Moody, and Ryan Moody. 

David Ray Moody was born on June 26, 1963, in Bridgeport, Texas, to Scott Charles Moody and Delma Hood, and peacefully passed away on February 10, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A jack-of-all-trades, David dabbled as a mechanic, tried his hand as a roughneck, and even took on the role of an entrepreneur. If there was anything that involved grease, grit, or getting things fixed, David was your guy. He was also known for his willingness to help others, often going out of his way to give anyone the shirt off his back.

David had a larger-than-life personality. He shared valuable life lessons that will be remembered by those who knew him. His favorite pieces of advice included “caring a lot, loving a little,” and “always taking care of your children because one day, they will take care of you.” He also emphasized the importance of respecting elders, showcasing his deep appreciation for family values.

David’s hobbies reflected his adventurous spirit and zest for life —namely, blowing stuff up, driving fast (and we mean really fast), and showing off his love for guns. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish David’s memory are his son, Ray Moody; daughter, Reashia Marshall; brothers, Gary Moody and Gorden Moody; sisters, Cindy Smith and Margaret Sparks; grandchildren, Ryan Moody, Joshua Marshall, and Tony Marley; and a host of family and friends.

David is preceded in death by his father, Charles Moody; mother, Delma Howard; brother, Coren Moody; and sister Mary Moody.
