David Harless

Robert David Harless, 78, of Chico, went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 29, 2017.

Memorial services for David will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday May 3, at the New Hope Fellowship Church in Chico, Texas, officiated by pastor Lionel Young. Pallbearers are Eric McCrory, Nick McCrory, Matt McCrory, Jason Miller, Clayton Miller. Shawn Heath, Mikel Heath, and Hank Bailey.

He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on March 6, 1939 to M.E. and Vesta (Moore) Harless. David was a Mason. He loved wood working. He was retired from General Motors but his recent love was working in the community of Slidell. He was an active member of New Hope Fellowship Church in Chico. David most of all loved his family especially his grandchildren who called him "Papa”.

David is survived by his wife Jo with whom he shared his life with for 43 wonderful years; his children, sons T.J. Miller and wife Denise, Si Miller and wife Misty; daughters Marilyn McCrory and husband Keith, Starr Heath and husband Stan, Tema Shelton and husband Rick, and Kay Bailey ; grandchildren Eric McCrory and wife Wendy, Nick McCrory, Matt McCrory, Jason Miller and wife Amber, Clayton Miller, Robyn Miller and wife Kassie, Brandy Weis and husband Jimmy, Shay Miller, Shawn Heath and wife Denise, Mikel Heath and wife Grace, Hannah Bailey, Hank Bailey, Samantha Bailey, Justin Shelton and wife Annie, Mathew Shelton and wife Stacey, Derek Harper and Kasie Uribe and husband Greg; 19 great-grandchildren; Sister Ruth Henry, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard and Donald Harless, sister JoAnn Price, and grandson Christopher Wheelis.
