Funeral services for Carol Andrews, 83, of Paradise, Texas, will be at 2 pm Friday, February 3, 2023, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery. Officiating will be pastors Chad Welty and David Kelly.
Pallbearers include Rick Noel, Simon Najera, Anthony Grant, Paul Boaz, Grant Newton, John Ward, Nathan Piatt, and Mark Horton.
Born November 6, 1939, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Carol was raised by her parents Howard and Edith Bond in Atlanta, Georgia. She married June 19, 1964, to the love of her life, Pliny Earl Andrews, and was happily married for 54 years.
Carol attended Decatur Baptist College for her associate's degree, Howard Payne University for her bachelor’s degree, and S.W. Baptist Theological Seminary, eventually earning her master’s degree. She loved working with children. Carol devoted her life to teaching, and eventually retired from Paradise Independent School District. In her free time, she also taught Sunday school, most recently at Redeemer Church in Bridgeport, spent time with family, and worked with children’s ministries for many years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Bradley Howard Andrews, and wife Suzanne of Paradise, Texas, and Steven James Andrews and wife, Amanda of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters Bonnie Rushlow and Judy Hansard; grandchildren Matthew and wife, Kalsie, Corgan, Tanner and wife, Phoebe, Raeann and fiancé, Alex, Madisyn, Dillon, Mikayla, Hadley, and Reed; great-grandchildren Madden, Bowen, and Waylon; and a host of friends, relatives, and her church family.
Carol is preceded in death by her father, Howard Bond, and wife, Edith, of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Christine Toms, of Brattleboro, Vermont; husband, Pliny Andrews; and brother, Howard Bond, Jr., of Liberty, Texas.
