Carl Russell, Sr.

Funeral services for Carl Russell, Sr., 77, of Bridgeport, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at First Baptist Church Chico, with burial to follow at Chico Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, one hour prior, at the church. Pastor Ronnie Lawson will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Carl Russell, Jr., Nathan Russell, Leonard Webster, Christopher Russell, Rodney Williams, and Everett Barron.

Carl Russell, Sr., was born September 9, 1946, in Cameron, Missouri, to Oscar Alfred and Martha Mabel (Cohorst) Russell, and peacefully passed away July 25, 2024, in Bridgeport, Texas.

Throughout his life, Carl had a passion for various hobbies and interests. He found joy in camping, watching western movies, and building hot rods. These pursuits brought him happiness and allowed him to showcase his creativity and craftsmanship. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Those left to cherish Carl’s memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Brenda Russell; sons Carl Russell, Jr. and wife Julie, Nathan Russell and wife Robin, and Leonard Webster and wife Kim; daughter Diane McLey and husband David; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Martha Russell, and his brother Donnie Russell.
