Bonnie Chambers

Funeral services for Bonnie Chambers, 69, of Paradise, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday April 14, 2025, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, with burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. Monday, two hours prior to the service, at the funeral home. Dr. Shawn Brewer will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Brandon Chambers, Chuck Rhoades, Jayson Rhoades, Julian Perez, Luis Perez, and Logan Wood.

Bonnie Lynn (McKeever) Chambers was born on April 2, 1956, in New London, Connecticut, and peacefully passed away on April 4, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Marion (Lewis) McKeever and Riley Braxton New. In her early years, she was adopted by Robert Lee McKeever, whom she considered her real father.

Bonnie graduated from New London High School in 1975. Shortly after, she married her beloved husband, James Donald Chambers, known as “Don,” on June 2, 1976, at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. Together, they created a loving family and experienced life in various places due to Don's Coast Guard assignments, including Alaska, Louisiana, Michigan, Virginia, and Washington. Ultimately, they returned to Texas after Don's active service, where Bonnie would live for the remainder of her life.

In Texas, Bonnie dedicated 25 years of her life to working at Wal-Mart, where she was cherished by the community for her kindness and dedication. She embraced everything about Texas and country living, from the beautiful Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes to the joy of music and country dancing.

Those left to cherish Bonnie’s memory are her three children, Kristina Rhoades, Brandon Chambers, and Amber Wood; eight grandchildren, Julian, Jayson, Luis, Zoey, Savannah, Brianna, Kaden, and Liam; siblings, Sue Ann Nassr, John Riley McKeever, and Michael Ray McKeever.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Don Chambers, and her parents, Marion and Robert McKeever.
