Billy Wayne Munn

Bill Munn, 84 of Bridgeport passed away on Thursday, March 23 in Bidgeport.

Services for Billy will be Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Texas. Burial will follow at the Eastside Cemetery also in Bridgeport. Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-8 pm also at Jones. Officiated by Marc Moore. Pallbearers are Brian Camp, Chris Tackel, Kevin Jones, Terry Long, Skeet Caruthers, and Jeff Blalock.

Billy was born in Boyd, Texas on March 2, 1933 to Orlie and Eva (McBride) Munn. In August of 1957 he married the true love of his life Shirley Smith, they shared a wonderful life together for 59 years. He proudly served his country in the US Airforce and was a member of the National Guard. Billy was a retired postmaster and had a passion for fly fishing, where he was a charter member of the Dallas and Fort Worth Fly Tyers Club and the Federation of Fly Fishers. He received many awards including The Perpetual “Buz” Busek Memorial Fly Tying award and the Fly Tier of the year award and Texas Fly Fisher of the Year in 1984. He also enjoyed hunting, reading, watching his favorite teams The Texas Rangers and The Dallas Cowboys, in his spare time he loved spending his time with family and friends.

Billy is survived by his wife of 59 years; his son Brett Munn and wife Monica; a daughter Amy Galley and husband Matthias; brothers Jimmy Munn and wife Joy, Orville Munn and wife Frances. Ronald Munn and wife Barbara and Jerry Munn; Sister Donna Munn; grandchildren Angela Munn. Felica Munn and Fiance Adam Lamb, Berlin and Emerson Galley; one great grandchild Kaydn Lamb.

He is preceded in the death by his parents.
