She was born January 13, 1929 to parents Joe and Idus (Long) Gregg in Willow Point, Texas.
She married Wayne Billington August 31, 1946. The couple were married for 65 years before his death in 2012.
For many years, Wayne and Billie owned and operated Billington’s Grocery on Hwy 114 in Bridgeport, where high school students for many years enjoyed their homemade sandwiches and other treats. Somehow a sandwich never tasted quite as good as one from their store. And when the store closed down in the early 2000s to make way for a more modern convenience store, its loss is still talked about today.
Billie is survived by her daughter Louise Miller and husband Charles of Bridgeport; grandchildren Emily Boyd and husband Kevin of Austin, Texas, Sandra Thornhill of Austin, Carol Thornhill of San Angelo, Texas, and Jason Billington of Denver, Colorado; five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Billington, son Don Billington, sister Mary Shellnut, and grandson-in-law Jason Thornhill.
