Betty Williams

A graveside service for Betty Jo Williams, 93, of White Settlement, Texas will be 2:00 pm Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Childress, Texas at the Childress Cemetery, officiated by Jim Taylor. Betty passed away Sunday, May 22 in White Settlement. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25 from 6-8 pm at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Betty was born February 1, 1923 in Crafton, Texas to Thomas B. and Mattie Mae (Warden) Stack. In her later years she lived in the Fort Worth area, but for many years she lived in Bridgeport. She held numerous jobs over the years, including work at Justin Boots, and as a cafeteria aide at the old Bridgeport Hospital and elementary school. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watauga, Texas, and enjoyed crafting and gardening. She and husband Glen Eugene Williams married in Altus, Oklahoma on December 24, 1941. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
