A Celebration of Life for Barry A. Larkin, 74, of Runaway Bay, Texas, will be held 4-6 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Barry Arnold Larkin was born December 6, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Kenneth and Jacquelyn Larkin. He attended the Oklahoma Military Academy and, after graduating, proudly joined the US Navy and served in Vietnam, demonstrating his commitment to his country. After returning home, he married Carla, the love of his life, and, together, raised two sons, Ken and Levi.
Barry joined the Addison Fire Department as a firefighter paramedic in 1975 and spent the next 30 years helping the citizens of Addison. In this role, he led and mentored countless generations of firefighters and retired in 2005 with the rank of Shift Commander.
Barry had a fondness for the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and camping. Most of all, he loved his family and shared these same outdoor passions with his sons and grandchildren. He created lasting memories and left a legacy of family that will continue to lead, teach, and mentor.
Barry is survived by his wife Carla; sons, Ken and wife Stayci and Levi and wife Lauren; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
