Services for Carol Valkenaar, 68, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 10:00 am Saturday, November 6, 2021 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Bridgeport, officiated by Father Reehan Antony. Burial will follow at Thomas Cemetery in Bridgeport. Pallbearers are Anna Mann, Paul Valkenaar, Steven Valkenaar, Britini Valkenaar, Jeremy Mann, Ibis Valkenaar, Aaron ‘Big A’ Bentley, and Dave Cramton. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, November 5 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Carol passed away peacefully Saturday, October 30 in Bridgeport.

She was born February 26, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley and Constance (Humecki) Petraitis.

Carol was a tender-hearted soul who loved spending time with her family and doting over her grandchildren. She enjoyed serving her community and was an active member of St. Johns Catholic Church.

Carol was a true homemaker who enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She also loved being in the kitchen where she taught her children and grandchildren how to cook and bake. She was often found working in the soil, whether tending to her flowers or vegetables. Carol was a big animal lover and enjoyed spoiling her rescue dogs.

At every opportunity, she could be found traveling the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and, her favorite, Maui.

She is survived by husband Kreigh Valkenaar of Bridgeport; children Anna Mann and husband Jeremy of Grapevine, Texas, Paul Valkenaar and wife Ibis of Chicago, and Steven Valkenaar and wife Britini of Bridgeport; siblings Janice Petraitis, Mary Ellen Riedel, Stanley Petraitis, Keith Petraitis; grandchildren Osmany, Esteban, Nubia, Nyah, Faith, Erica, Grace, Abigail, and Elijah; one great-grandchild Milexi.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
